This type of sofa bed has foam or a sprung mattresses folded away inside. And it has a complicated spring-loaded opening mechanism. The bed bit  pulls out from the centre of the sofa frame. And it’s supported on a pair of legs with a wire mesh base. But there’s a drawback with this. Its strength and longevity.

What I don’t like about this design is there are too many moving parts.

There’s too much to go wrong. And when something does break (Sod’s Law says it will one day) what do you do? Get a sofa bed repairman out?

Dunno about you but I’ve never heard of one of them. What this means is unless this type of sofa bed is repairable, you can’t use it to sleep on. So when I thought about this one I discarded it because it’s too damn complicated.
